Great Group, Great Announcement, Not So Great Editing

God, our poor little Great White North alumni chapter of GDB can't win for losin'. It was founded last June and we've been trying to figure out a way to get the word out there that we exist. We eventually drafted up a little greeting message to send to the alumni news that is sent out to all GDB grads.

Well, it was supposed to be in the April newsletter, but somehow, it got lost.

So, we were happy to see it arrive in the July newsletter! Here it is.

Greetings from the Great White North!

Our dogs are happily romping and pleased to have survived another Canadian winter while we handlers curl up with our favorite beverage, watching our dogs at play. Our group has only been formed mid-2009. We are currently a small group of people, from Vancouver Island all the way East to Ottawa. We welcome any graduates, puppy raisers and family to become members. As we are geographically challenged, we have a Yahoo Group to discuss Canadian matters relating to our Guide Dogs, chapter business, etc. If you are interested or would like more information about our chapter, please do not hesitate to contact me at:jmcmeachen@guidedogs.com.

That is, we were happy until we got to the email address! It's wrong! The correct address is jmceachen@guidedogs.com. Thankfully, the other address can't possibly be possessed by someone, so some poor JMcmeachen somewhere won't be ready to strangle the next person who emails them about some north pole dog something or other group.

The amazing part about this blunder is the copy that went out the first and second time did not have that error in it, so somehow, the person putting this together managed to screw up a copy/paste job. Epic editing fail!

So, to anyone who wants to come aboard, don't email the address listed in the alumni news, or remove that second m.
