"Text books are the soup de jour, the sine qua non, the nut and bolts of teaching and learning in high school and college so to speak,"...
"[J]ust because student have a text book, doesn't mean she or she will be able to read it . . . Additionally students can't use a text book to learn how to learn from a textbook..."Um, eek? This failure pile in an email was sent out in response to parents and teachers being upset that there were no textbooks. Hmmm. I think they have made their case that they need the books.
I love this description of the letter, written by an English teacher who obviously knows of what he speaks.
"The grammar is horrible. The logic is tortured. I can't figure out what he's trying to say," said Ettman, who gave the letter a grade of F.
But it sounds like Andrew Buck's issues go deeper than that one memo. He was rated not trustworthy by all the teachers working under him. Wow!
If Buck isn't made to make a speedy exit out of his position of principal, that school is in trouble...hope they're not too attached to it.
