There's A Reason They Went With Barnstormers And Not Brainstormers
Here's a clip of some hilariously bad baseball from a game in the independent Atlantic League between the Lancaster Barnstormers and the Somerset Patriots.
Having just allowed a 1 out triple in the bottom of the 12th inning, Barnstormers' pitcher Lance Odom decides to employ, as they used to say in the old cartoons, a little stragedy. In the hopes of making force outs possible at every base or perhaps getting somebody to hit into an inning-ending double play,, the call is made to intentionally walk the bases loaded. A sound idea I suppose, even though I've never been a fan of the intentional pass. And afterthis,I suspect there's a decent chance that neither are the Lancaster Barnstormers.
