Tesco Really Tries To Prevent People From Hitting The Sauce
Let's pick on the UK some more, just because it's so easy.
this story is a bit old, and I don't know how I missed it, but better late than never, I guess. Claire Birchell, age 25, was up visiting her parents. She went to the store and saw barbecue sauce with Jack Daniel's in it. Since she couldn't get it back home, she thought she'd buy a bottle. But since she didn't have ID, store employees said "Not a chance." When her brother-in-law, who did have ID, tried to buy it, they said no, since he'd probably give it to her.
come on. It's goddamn barbecue sauce. Higher-ups say the staff should "err on the side of caughtion." I think it's more like the side of stupidity.
