Prepare For An Audiolanche!

For quite a while now, people have been asking us when we're going to be doing more audio. Well, barring any August style stupidity, this is your lucky...weekend.

Wait, did he say weekend?

Yes, yes he did.

Carin and I talked about it and agreed that we want to try something a little different. Instead of blocking off a pile of time and recording a single monstrous something or other cast that's just a hair short of 3 billion hours long, we're going to throw things at you throughout the holiday weekend. Some of these things may be 30 seconds long, some of them could go for 30 minutes for all we know. We have no idea how this will turn out, but we're going to experiment with it.

So keep your eye on the site if you're around this weekend, or grab everything in one shot when you get back from hanging out with people likely much cooler than us. If all goes well, we should have something up for you this afternoon if not sooner.

As always, feel free to let us know what you think. Mentions on Twitter, emails, comments...we'll be keeping a possibly less than sober eye on them all, so feel free to talk to us. And this might be a bad idea, but if any of you have suggestions for what you'd like to hear, let us know. No promises that we'll actually do it, but it's worth a try because hey, you never know.

We'll talk to you all soon. Oh, and happy Labour Day weekend, everybody.

Nothing like starting out with a piping hot bowl of failure. It's part of our complete breakfast. We just recorded a nice long audio where Carin finally told the story of her dealings with the old vet and the switch to the new one. It also had some pretty cool Trixie stuff in it. It would have been great, especially if you're a dog person. Unfortunately, the Stream had other plans and turned itself off, so we ended up capturing nothing.

Forgive me for feeling a little sad and discouraged at the moment. So tempting to say fuck audio forever, but I won't. The stream works, we tested it. NO idea what in hell happened, but hopefully it won't happen again.

I think I know what happened. I'm a moron. There's a tap start recording and a hold mode so that when you let up, recording stops. I did a little more hold than tap, I guess, even though I didn't think I did enough. Apparently I did.

Well what do ya know, I learned something! Until this happened I had no clue there were multiple modes. the only thing you ever told me was hit that button and it'll say start recording, then hit it again and it'll tell you it's stopping. Good to know. Only weird part is that it never said it was stopping before it shut off.

Victor you brat. Looking forward to audio! It's been way too long, way way too long. I want to hear you on the balcony. Got anymore "you can't cross there" stories where you could yell and freak out the people in the pool? Are there still people in the pool? Is it still summer there?

Hey, you should say hi to Jayden and see if he wonders who's calling his name.

We were out on the balcony for most of this one since Carin was grooming Trix, but probably not being loud enough to freak anybody out. But this would be prime season for neighbour freak outage since the folks on the next balcony over always seem to be out there keeping an eye on everything that goes on. According to a sighted buddy of mine it's actually a little creepy the way they look at everything. I knew they were there, but not the extent of their staring at everything they could look at all around them.

and yes, there'll be people in the pool. At least part of this weekend is supposed to be real freaking hot, like 40 C with the humidity again. From the sounds of the forecast we're going to be jumping all over the map for temperatures, so it could be interesting.

We may try at some point to retell the vet story. It's one Carin's been wanting to tell, so it would be a shame if it got lost to history. I just wish that Trixie's part of things hadn't been lost. It was great. She tried killing me, she wagged her tail into the recorder over and over again, she did the shake off and hit it, and she ran around like a crazy man. Had it all turned out right you dog folks would have had fun with it I'm sure.

Hahaha, we'll definitely try to give Jayden a shoutout during one of the audios. Maybe he'll get his own little one. That way it'll be easier for you to play it and get his attention without having to find an exact spot in the file.

But fear not. If we have anything to say about it, there will be audio!
